Bonn is located in North Rhine-Westphalia between Ville and Seven Mountains on the southern tip of the Lower Rhine area and has about 311 000 inhabitants. Bonn was until they moved to Berlin in 1999 seat of the German Bundestag and the Bundesrat, the federal government and numerous federal agencies.
Services are the most important economic sector. Bonn is becoming increasingly important as a location for banking and telecommunications.
